Story 1: Ms. MizuYuri

This is my first story!
But I got a little lazy before I finished.

This is a random story idea…

They were just two strangers, who met one day in a flower field.

They didn’t understand one another at all; but still became friends.

That is, until he taught her how to us her clan’s direct controlling jutsu.

In return, she taught him how to let go.

But that was a problem, the Mizuyuri and the Hyuuga were two completely different clans.

Everyone in the Mizuyuri clan was peaceful; but had a bit of an attitude.

And the Hyuuga, they were made to fight and obey.

When she began to battle, and he began to act up.

The two clans blamed it on one another.

Even though the two children were only trying to help each other.

After a long debate between the now two rival clans, they concluded that it was all the children’s doing.

These two children were Neji Hyuuga, and Keihi Mizuyuri.

The boy's cursed seal was activated and the girl was silently shunned by her family.

They were forbidden to see each other, and over time they grew apart.

Until they couldn’t even recognize each other.

Then they met again…

*plunk*, Neji Hyuuga sat by the side of the lake skipping rocks.

He lied down on his back and ripped at the grass.

Then rolled over onto his stomach and hit his forehead against the ground.

“Remember, remember.” he groaned, all he had done was give himself a headache.

Neji frowned and looked at the water, he had had the most unsettling dream.

It was about a girl standing on the opposite side of the lake he was by now, smiling and then falling into the water.

That would normally have not been so weird, but the girl looked exactly like someone he knew, or had known; he just couldn’t remember whom.

He stared to the spot where she would have been if the dream had been true; but he found he was staring at an empty space.

Neji closed his eyes and pulled his coat off so he could cover his head.

Then promptly, fell asleep; and dreamed again.

The same dream, but this time he ran to the other side of the lake and pulled her out.

Cold water hit Neji on the face and brought him back from his dream world.

Only to find, the girl was lying in front of him; they were both soaked.

He got up and moved in to get a closer look at her.

Neji turned her over and placed his ear to her chest to see if she was still breathing, only for her to start sputtering.

After pushing Neji as far away from herself as she could, she stood up and attempted to ring out her clothes.

Neji also stood and tried to greet her, but it ending in a coughing fit of his own.

Once they had both recovered, Neji asked where she lived as to take her home.

But it ended in her in them both back at the Hyuuga household with towels.

When Neji’s uncle, Hiashi, walked into the room, his first question was, “What clan are you from?”

“Mizuyuri, sir.” She smiled, “Your son pulled me out of the lake.

Neji winced, “He’s not my dad, he’s my uncle.”

“Oh, I’m so sorry. Sir, your nephew pulled me out of the lake.” She giggled.

“Mizuyuri…” Hiashi sighed.

“Is something wrong?” The girl’s smile had vanished.

“Yes, I need you out of the house and back to your own family now.” Hiashi opened the door and shoved her out, towel and all.

“But Uncle! You can’t do that!” Neji ran to reopen the door for her.

Hiashi knocked Neji out of the way and locked the deadbolt on the door.

Hiashi left the room, assuming Neji wouldn’t dare open the door.

But as soon as he was gone, Neji fought with himself on whether or not to let her in.

“If Hiashi has a good reason for kicking her out, this may be the end of me.” But in the end, he unlocked the door and let her back in.

She came in and dried off the rest of her hair, then told Neji to stop by her house later.

When Neji turned up at her doorstep, she brought him in and gave him a small cup of lily flower tea.

“Is it safe to drink?” Neji had never once seen tea made of lilies.

“There isn’t a plant that the water lily clan can’t make tea out of.” She giggled.

There was silence for a bit after that.

Neji was first to break it, “Despite the whole lake accident, I still don’t know your name, an you don’t know mine.”

“Oh, I know who you are, you’re Neji Hyuuga. I saw you at the Chunin exams” the Mizuyuri girl smiled, “but my name is Keihi."

Neji became a bit embarrassed about his misconception, so he quickly turned to look at a plant in the windowsill.

“I know, that plant is dying.” Keihi moved her hands in a jutsu formation Neji had only seen once, when he had taught it to a girl he hadn’t seen in years.

“Look at the plant now.” Keihi pointed to the flower.

Neji turned his attention to the flower again, but this time it was in full bloom with lush green leaves.

Neji looked back at Keihi, “Where did you learn that jutsu?” he asked.

“When I was younger, I had a friend, I can’t remember his name, but he showed me how to use it because it was my clan’s special skill." Keihi explained.

“I taught a girl the same jutsu when I was about 8." Neji took another sip of his tea.

Keihi blinked in astonishment, “You… you were him, weren’t you!”

Neji had just had the same epiphany, “That was you?”

“So that’s why my dad didn’t want you to be at my house.” Neji frowned, remembering the day when they got caught playing together.

“I’m so sorry, but you need to leave now.” Keihi picked up his dishes and quickly ran them into the kitchen.

“Yes, I understand.” Neji tried to smile while inside he was being torn, this girl had been his best friend; and his parents had got in the way of that.

“I’ll meet you tomorrow at the west training ground, okay?” Keihi handed him his coat.

“Alright.” Neji let himself out.

When Neji had made it home, he quietly opened the door and locked it behind him.

He slipped up to his room, where another branch member was making his bed.

“Oh, hello Neji. How are you?” the woman said.

“Great Momiji.” Neji sighed and slumped onto the floor.

Momiji just smiled, she knew something was wrong, but she also knew he wouldn’t tell her about it; Neji liked to keep his secrets to himself.

She laid his pillow down on his bed, and headed for the door; but then stopped, “You’re different, you need to follow different paths.” Momiji shut the door.

Neji blinked, how could she have known what he was thinking about?

He climbed up onto his windowsill and looked out, he was confused.

This girl, Keihi, had been his best friend, but their families wanted them to stay away from each other.

Neither of them had done wrong, so Neji didn’t know who he should listen to, himself or his relatives.

Keihi sat at the training ground with a kunai in one hand; she sighed.

She hadn’t seen Neji in years, and he was so kind; but she still found herself struggling to trust him.

She decided to lay back into the grass and look at the clouds, “Neji could have changed so much…” she sighed.

“Hello.” A voice came from behind her.

“Neji?” Keihi flipped over to see who it was.”

“Nope, Shikamaru Nara.” A boy was standing right in front of her, “You’re in my cloud watching spot.”

“Oh, sorry.” Keihi said, but she didn’t get up.

Shikamaru sat next to her and looked up at the sky, “So, why you waiting for Neji?

“I was supposed to meet him here.”

“Well, I just went by his house to give something to Hinata. Neji answered the door and was still in his pajamas.” Shikamaru yawned, “So troublesome.”

“That stupid idiot, I bet he forgot about me.” Keihi returned the yawn and turned away from Shikamaru.

“Keihi!” A voice called from the distance, “Don’t leave yet!”

“What took you so long?” Keihi called back.

Neji ran up to the training spot and huffed, “Did you think it would be that easy for me to get away from my family?”

Yeah… uh
